- Elephant Tattoo Ideas– The largest land animal on Earth lives within a family that has strong ties to children, parents, and grandparents. Elephants bond for life and do not forget their tribe. The age-old idiom “elephants never forget” symbolizes the gift of memory. Elephants also have strong ties to Hindu culture. They are represented as the divine God Ganesha and are interpreted as having wisdom, luck, and prosperity. An elephant tattoo includes all of these meanings and more. They are especially good for someone who is in mourning as they symbolize divinity and memory.
- Vibrant Violet Flower Tattoo Ideas–Violets have been around and used in ceremonies and culture for centuries. The leaves are heart-shaped and therefore get associated with beauty and love in certain circ*mstances. However, these flowers mean whatever you want when you get the tattoo. I’m partial to them because they are my sorority Sigma Kappa tattoo ideas of choice. The key is to make sure you get a tattoo artist that you feel comfortable with.
- Palm Tattoos– If you have a serious addiction to tattoos, you might be ready to opt for a palm tattoo. Palm tattoos are awesome and will make you look even more badass than you already do. Plus, if you can tough through the pain of a palm tattoo, you can pretty much tough through anything! Don’t let that scare you away, though. Don’t make any decisions until you have seen all of these palm tattoo designs.
There is something so universal about the peace sign. You see it in photos all over the globe; it’s my go-to pose when I see the camera is out. Yet, it has such a deeper meaning than just something silly to do when the camera is on you.
It’s literally a symbol of peace. It may not be super serious, but to me, this hand sign means so much more than it used to. I recently sat and thought about all of the good it does. There is not a single ounce of malice behind it; it is 100% a symbol of light. That is why I’m so excited to share some of my favorite peace sign tattoo ideas with you today.

The History of the Peace Sign
I thought going into the symbolism of the peace sign would be a little redundant since you know that it symbolizes peace and prosperity. So I wanted to learn more about how this hand sign came about instead. This is going to be some fun party trivia to have in your back pocket.
According to Britannica
The modern peace sign was designed by Gerald Holtom for the British Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament in 1958. The vertical line in the center represents the flag semaphore signal for the letter D, and the downward lines on either side represent the semaphore signal for the letter N. “N” and “D”, for nuclear disarmament, enclosed in a circle. Holtom also described the symbol as representing despair, with the central lines forming a human with its hands questioning at its sides against the backdrop of a white Earth.
Wow, I actually had no idea that this symbol was originally meant to fight the creation and existence of nuclear bombs. Now I love it even more. When looking for an explanation of how the hand sign came to be, Business Insider said,
“The ‘V’ sign, made by holding up the index and middle fingers, initially was used to signal victory by Allied nations during World War II. Anti-war activists later adopted it as a symbol of peace, and today the gesture is known as “the peace sign.”‘
This is pretty crazy! I think knowing where these symbols came from makes them all the more powerful as tattoos. What do you think?
How Much Will A Peace Sign Tattoo Cost?
Great question, and I have a not-so-clear answer for you. A Peace sign tattoo can cost anywhere from $50-$600 or more, depending on the kind of tattoo it is. As you probably know, tattoo artists (for the most part) will charge you based on the hour. Most tattoo artists have different rates and levels of skill, so it all depends on the person you pick.
The smaller and simpler a tattoo is, the cheaper it will be. Put simply, small tattoos take up less time to create, which means fewer hourly payments being made to your tattoo artist.
Get a consultation with the shop that you are hoping to work with in order to get a more clear estimate. Show them your tattoo idea, pick an artist, and see how long they think it will take!
Will It Hurt?
Though the idea of a peace sign having anything to do with pain is an odd notion, I can say with confidence that your peace sign tattoo is going to hurt. I know this is rough news. But there are many things that you can do to help you feel less during your tattoo.
You can choose an area that is known for being less painful. These areas consist of the meatier spots on your body, like your arms and your thighs. This is because you have a nice protective layer between the needle and the nerve endings. If you are still set on a painful spot, that is okay! You can invest in some tattoo numbing creams to help ease your pain. I have tried this, and it was heaven-sent.
