Skyrim: Every Female NPC You Can Marry And Where To Find Them

If you want to find a woman to marry in Skyrim, here is every single one in the game!

After playing through the game a few times, though, all the usual vanilla and DLC bosses you encounter in your travels start to feel pretty boring. If you're looking for reworks of the bosses you know and love, or new ones altogether that you can find throughout the map, you're in the right place.

All mods are sourced from Nexus Mods, and are compatible with Skyrim Special Edition. Some mods mentioned require other mods or script loaders to function properly.

8 End Times Of Skyrim SE

If these large, heavily armored brutes look oddly familiar to you, it's because this mod is inspired by the Warhammer universe. As you roam Skyrim's lawless, but oftentimes beautiful countrysides and wilds, there's a chance you could run into one of four different Chaos Champions.

Although, you'll probably only hear their fully voiced dialogue and remarks in battle if you're using an up-close and personal setup, like a fearsome, two-handed weapon wielding Orc, or a heavy armor-toting Paladin that uses Restoration magic to stay in the fight.

7 I Used To Be A Dungeon Boss Like You

Skyrim: 8 Best Boss Mods (3)

Cooperating with the Alternate Start mod, I Used To Be A Dungeon Boss Like You creates an interesting role reversal; instead of diving into a crypt as an adventurer, you'll find yourself waking up from a long slumber to some looters plundering your sacred space.

It's up to you to dispatch these rude, greedy invaders in whatever manner you deem appropriate, and then venture out into the world; it'll be nice to get some fresh air, instead of breathing in whatever's been floating around in that stale, dusty crypt.

6 Boss Encounters Of Skyrim

Skyrim: 8 Best Boss Mods (4)

Whether it's Melavid, a powerful mage that favors lightning magic, Atticus and Garius, two Imperial Legion defectors looking to escape the region, Aslak the dragon knight, or someone else, Boss Encounters of Skyrim adds plenty of powerful foes with leveled gear and decent bounties on their heads.

How Many People Can You Romance In Skyrim Versus Starfield?

If you play games for the chance of romancing your favorite characters, you might want to know how many NPCs can fall in love in these games.

If you'd rather seek these bosses out directly, you can visit local taverns and collect info from bounty boards to track them down. As a general guideline, it's recommended that you wait until you're at least level 20, but ultimately you can fight these enemies whenever you want.

5 Ghosts Of Akavir

Skyrim: 8 Best Boss Mods (6)

If you happen to be lurking around Karthspire, or delving into Bloated Man's Grotto, this mod will spice up these locations by adding three new bosses, all of which use snazzy, Akiviri-style armor and carry unique, lootable weapons:

  • Taira Matsutoshi, the last surviving general of the Dragonguard.
  • Agyo, The Giant.
  • Akamizu, a powerful Dragonguard Priestess.

Unless you have some particularly good gear, like some overpowered Daedric equipment, or took the time to farm dragon souls and level up your shouts, you should fight these bosses with caution, preferably from a distance.

4 Lord Yorma - Weapon Of Clan Volkihar

Skyrim: 8 Best Boss Mods (7)

If you have the Dawnguard DLC, then you're likely familiar with the Soul Cairn realm, an interesting place full of condemned souls that were absorbed into Soul Gems, puzzles, quests, powerful enemies, and most importantly, the means to unlocking a summonable steed.

If you want a little bit more to tackle, though, you can choose between a level 50 and 160 version of Lord Yorma, an optional boss with their own castle, and minions that boast a customized AI and unique attacks. Do not underestimate this boss.

3 Real Bosses

Skyrim: 8 Best Boss Mods (8)

Have you ever fought a unique, named enemy, like one of the Dragon Priests or a spellcaster attached to a questline, and found yourself disappointingly surprised at how easy it was to win? With the Real Bosses mod, consider that problem solved.

While the mod affects all kinds of named NPCs, some examples and changes include hefty, increased elemental resistances for all Dragon Priests, an augmented General Tullius, who can reflect your blows, or a complete revamp to the inhabitants of Castle Volkihar. Go ahead, prove your mettle.

2 Open World Bosses

Skyrim: 8 Best Boss Mods (10)

From absolutely gargantuan mammoths with precious golden tusks that can be sold or refined into weapons, to Daedra trolls and Golden Bears that yield unique hides and useful alchemy ingredients, Open World Bosses adds six new, high-level enemies to encounter.

While the Armored King Trolls should keep you pretty busy with their high health regeneration, if you end up slaying these enemies to near extinction, rest assured they'll respawn after ten to 30 in-game days. Also, keep in mind you'll need the Dawnguard DLC for this mod to work.

1 Ultimate Boss Fight Mod

Skyrim: 8 Best Boss Mods (11)

If you're looking for a complete overhaul to Skyrim's bosses, packed with unique soundtracks and tough, frequent battles, the Ultimate Boss Fight mod is essentially a business-class flight to an entirely new world, full of scary, challenging enemies.

If you're skeptical, try the mod out for yourself, and we'll see if you can clear Bleak Falls Barrow at the beginning of the game like you always used to. Spoiler alert, you probably won't be able to, since bosses in this mod don't scale with your level; either you're stronger, or they are.
